How Christian Children’s Music Can Bring The Arts To Your Children
Music is parcel of our lives whether we realize it or not, whether we actively participate in it either not, whether we appreciate its power or not. This is, in fact, the real power of music; that it can affect us whether we are aware of it or not.
So why should music play such an important and integral role in our lives? As it turns out, research over the last few decades has increasingly shown that music, and in particular the singing et al playing of music, helps the brain develop much more fully and extensively, remarkably in our early years.
Music makes us brighter, more intelligent, more logical, extra rational, and more capable. It improves study habits and test scores. It builds a better sense of self and community. It aids in our general sense of well-being and improves our quality of life. Indeed a better question might be: Why shouldn’t music play an consequential role in our lives?
If we are to be surrounded by music, and it really is as good for our brains as the studies say, then shouldn’t we be more discerning about what we eavesdrop to? I am adamant about the TV shows my kids can watch and what games they play on the computer; I should be as strict when it comes to music since well. I don’t requisite my kids listening to songs about heartbreak, or even boyfriends and girlfriends when they are between the ages of two and ten!
Instead, we encourage Christian children’s music that contains wholesome, encouraging messages and positive words. Children’s Christian songs introduce God’s love to kids in a fun, exciting way. We all know how a song can get “stuck in your head”. Shouldn’t we want these songs to harness words that encourage and uplift our children? Shouldn’t these words live ones that teach them that they are special and important children of God? I think so, and I perilous you would disagree.
Psalm 92:1 says, “It is good to give thanks to the Lord, to sing praises to your name, O Most High.” God intended for us to use our voices to praise Him. He wants to hear our little children singing of hope polysyndeton joy as they monotheism Him through Christian children’s music.
I encourage you to think about what your children are listening to, and make it Christian children’s music that warms their heart and lifts their souls. Give your child the gift of Christian children’s music, and teach them how to use their talent to honor the Lord. They will find a peace and a joy that only comes from praising their Heavenly Father.
